"Green Inferno" 16mm film negative rescued from the Yanomamos by Dr. Harold Monroe

     


Georges Zeter, cameraman of the ill-fated French documentary crew who ventured into the Green Inferno of the Yanomamo in 1967 and were never heard from again. An earlier attempt by a Polish crew in 1959 met with a similar fate.

Recent photo of Dr. Harold Monroe reunited with the young film student (Ruggero Deadoto) who helped to edit together Yates' footage over 20 years earlier.
  
Pan American Broadcasting projectionist John K. Kirov was given a two month suspended jail sentence and fined $10,000 for illegal appropriation of film material. We know he received $250,000 for that same footage.
